Generik Vapeur - Traffic of actors and machines - is a musical street theater company, created in 1983 by Caty Avram (rock singer) and Pierre Berthelot (machine actor). Passionate about industrial waste and memory of places, the company chooses the socio-poetics of cities and landscapes as a metronome to make images and melodies from them. Since 2010, Generik Vapeur is located at the Cité des arts de la rue (Marseille, France), land of experimentations and local and international development of street arts, unique in the world.
- La Deuche Joyeuse - Opéra de parvis / The Joyful 2CV
An orchestra goes to a city to perform, but nobody is there to welcome them. Nothing goes as planned! Impatience can be felt... metric, rhythms and sounds, the herd behaviors grow like a snowball and a true improvised big band takes shape from an assortment of metallic curls. Music is in full swing… Against all expectations, impatience will become a solution. Perfect harmony of the group will make the passers-by their coaches and accomplices. And finally, in a resounding and blasting ending, the “Deuche” (a 2CV Citröen identically rebuilt) makes its majestic and triumphal start.
